White Cane Sockeye Smoked Salmon LLC in Coeurd-Alene, Idaho, U.S.A., is recalling its Wild Alaskan Cooked and Smoked Salmon because it contains undeclared wheat and soy.
The company said no illnesses have yet been reported in relation to the recalled products.
“People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to wheat or soy run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product,” the company said in a news release.
The recalled Wild Alaskan Cooked and Smoked Salmon has been sold across the U.S. state of Arizona, including at farmers’ markets in Green Valley, Udall Park, Oro Valley, and Rillito Park. The affected product was last sold on 15 May, 2022.
The recall was initiated after it was discovered the teriyaki sauce used in making the product contained wheat and soy, but the fish was distributed in packaging that did not identify its presence, White Cane said.
The smoked salmon is packaged in vacuum bags and sold frozen, and there is no lot code or best-by date on the packages.
Customers with wheat or soy allergy or sensitivity who have purchased the affected product are urged not to consume the product and dispose of it or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
