For all the change that has come to the world since the inauguration of U.S. President Donald Trump, SeafoodSource’s ranking of the top 25 largest seafood companies in North America remains practically identical between 2017 and the current annum.
The fact that there was very little movement in this year’s list is surprising given the fact there were so many major events upending the global seafood marketplace – growing trade tensions caused by Trump’s protectionist policies, crashing shrimp prices, numerous scandals affecting several of the largest U.S. companies, and a host of other headwinds.
But there is no doubt that all of those issues are having a profound impact on the U.S. seafood industry’s pecking order.
