A Canadian smokehouse is recalling several lots of smoked salmon due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
Monsieur Émile Smokehouse is recalling its refrigerated Monsieur Émile Smokehouse brand and unbranded Smoked Salmon distributed to Canadian retailers.
“Consumers should not consume and distributors, retailers, and foodservice establishments such as hotels and restaurants should not sell or use the recalled products,” said the Canadian Food Inspection Agency in a press release.
However, no illnesses have been reported.
Other smoked salmon products have been recalled over the past year due to listeria concerns.
Springfield Smoked Fish, of Springfield, Massachusetts, U.S.A., temporarily stopped production and issued a recall on its one-pound packages of Pre-Sliced Nova Salmon because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes in December 2017.
And last November, True North Salmon Co. recalled its True North Seafood Company-brand Toppers Smoked Salmon Flakes seasoned with lemon and dill due to possible listeria contamination.
