Processing technology developer Skaginn 3X has expanded its sales team with two new strategic hires.
Ágúst Ágústsson and Ingvar Vilhjálmsson have joined the company as regional sales managers, Skaginn announced in a 18 March press release. Ágústsson, who worked most recently for food processing equipment developer Marel, will oversee sales in Sweden for Skaginn, while Vilhjálmsson – formerly of Ægir Seafood and Kaupthing Bank – will handle the Icelandic territory.
“Part of what sets Skaginn 3X apart is how closely we work with the industry, which is why we are so proud to bring these two seasoned professionals on board,” Skaginn 3X Director of Business Development Ingólfur Örn Guðmundsson said. “Their outstanding accomplishments and extensive knowledge of the technical and operational intricacies of this sector will be a great benefit for Skaginn 3X in building lasting relationships with our clients in Sweden, Iceland, and elsewhere in Europe.”
Ágústsson has ample experience working with clients all across Europe and is well-versed in poultry processing, an area where Skaginn 3X is currently experiencing growth, the company said. With Ágústsson based out of Sweden, Skaginn will look to expand its presence in the country, supporting local clients with a regional representative.
Meanwhile, Vilhjálmsson brings expertise in both seafood processing and finance to his new post. His time as CEO for Ægir Seafood in Iceland and head of capital markets for Kaupthing Bank have provided him insight that makes Vilhjálmsson “an invaluable resource for Skaginn 3X clients as a new regional sales manager for Europe,” the technology and equipment developer said.
