The 30th edition of the Seafood Expo Global/Seafood Processing Global kicks off next week in Barcelona, Spain, transforming the Mediterranean city into a bustling hub of activity as the world’s seafood companies and stakeholders gather there.

The expo opens on Tuesday, 23 April at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue and runs through 25 April.

This year’s show will be the largest in the event’s history, with more than 51,000 net square meters of exhibit space. Key industry leaders from all around the world will be exhibiting in Barcelona, including AquaChile, Balfego & Balfego, Blumar, Cermaq Norway AS, Clearwater, Cooke Seafood Inc, Cornelis Vrolijk BV, Denholm Seafoods Ltd, Direct Ocean, Frime, S.A.U., Frinsa Del Noroeste, S.A., Gelazur, Godaco Seafood JCS, Greenland Sofina, Groupe Barba, Iceland Seafood International, Japofish, Lerøy Seafood Group ASA, Maresmar SL,  Metarex, Mowi ASA, Parlevliet & van der Plas Bv, Pescanova España, S.L.U., Phillips Foods Inc, Regal Springs AG, Salmar AS, Sea Harvest Corporation (Pty) Ltd, Seafood Connection Bv, Vinh Hoan Corporation,  Worldwide Fishing Company SL, Talleys, and Unima.

The Seafood Processing Global exhibition area will include even more companies involved in seafood processing and services, including Adriatic Sea International srl, Ashworth Belts BV, Aquatiq AS, Baader, CMA CGM, Cocci Luciano SRL, COLIGROUP SPA, Defitrans SA, FoodTech Belgium vzw, GEA Food Solutions Germany GmbH, Lineage Logistics, Maersk AS, Marel, Maschinenfabrik Seydelmann KG, Mediterranean Shipping Company, MMC First Process, MULTIVAC Sepp Haggenmüller SE & Co. The show also features a packed conference program, with more than 20 informative sessions. Ninety industry experts are slated to speak at the conference, which includes a keynote address from political economist and renowned author Mark Blyth of the Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs at Brown University. Other sessions will cover aquaculture, sustainability, labor issues and governance, the impacts and implications of illegal, unregulated, and unreported (IUU) fishing, and much more. There will also be plenty of time and space to network at the expo. This year, attendees will be able to sit down for a drink at our International Beer Bar in Hall 3 or our Wine Bar in Hall 1, where visitors can also enjoy chilled seafood tastings. While you’re in Hall 1, take a break at our lounge or get a new professional headshot at the free station. And if you’re available, please join us for our new networking event and reception, Connecting Women in Seafood, on Wednesday, 24 April from 17:00-18:00 at the Wine Bar.

Don’t miss the announcement of the Seafood Excellence Global awards! The winners will be selected from 40 finalists on the first day of the expo, 23 April, with grand prizes awarded for the Best Retail Product and the Best Hotel/Restaurant/Catering (HORECA) Product. There will also be special awards presented for innovation, convenience, retail packaging, and seafood product line. Attendees can see all of the products entered into the Seafood Excellence Global competition on display for all three days of the event in Galleria, between Halls 4 and 5.
