Red Lobster has revived its “Crabfest” event as of 20 July, thus bringing the largest variety of crab-inspired dishes – including some new Alaska-sourced options – back to its menu for a limited timeframe.
Alaska Bairdi crab is the highlight of this year’s crabfest menu – however, customers can also settle on dishes that feature North American snow crab legs as well as plates that boast wild-caught sockeye and coho salmon sourced from Bristol Bay, Sandy Point and Prince William Sound in Alaska.
Each Alaska seafood offering on the menu will sport an Alaska Seafood logo, an affirmation of the restaurant chain’s long-standing support and commitment to sustainable fisheries. According to Red Lobster, this year’s Crabfest menu and its logos exist as an extension of the restaurant’s "tradition of providing quality seafood to guests while maintaining sustainable fishing practices and seafood quality assurance.”
"Alaska has always been deeply committed to ensuring that its wild, natural and delicious seafood can be enjoyed by generations to come," added Claudia Hogue, Foodservice Director of the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute. "Red Lobster's proud history of supporting seafood sustainability makes it a great partner to both help tell the story of the quality of Alaska Seafood as well as to bring wild-caught crab and fresh salmon to tables across North America."
In tandem with the Crabfest menu, Red Lobster is releasing a series of online videos wherein three chefs will demonstrate optimal preparation methods for Alaskan seafood. Check in with Red Lobster’s YouTube channel for access to the videos: https://www.youtube.com/user/RedLobsterSeafood
