“Crabfest” has returned to prominent restaurant chain Red Lobster, offering diners the largest array of crab dishes to be featured on the establishment’s menu.
The limited-time expansion of the Red Lobster menu includes the addition of four types of wild-caught crab, new crab preparations and new crab/seafood combinations. New to the menu is the Alaska Bairdi crab legs dinner, which involves “a generous portion of premium, wild-caught Alaska Bairdi crab legs, served with a full ear of Chesapeake-grilled corn on the cob,” according to Red Lobster.
Also freshly available are the "crab lover's dream" and the "jumbo lump crab cake dinner," the former pairing wild-caught North American snow crab legs and king crab legs with Red Lobster’s signature crab linguini alfredo, and the latter including three premium lump crab cakes featuring blue crab, paired with Meyer lemon aioli.
Crabfest will also feature combination dishes such as the jumbo lump crab cakes and crab-topped salmon dish, which boasts Alaska sockeye and coho salmon from the waters of Bristol Bay, Sandy Point and Prince William Sound in Alaska.
“Guests will see the Alaska Seafood logo on Red Lobster's menus next to the wild-caught Alaska crab and salmon options. This logo affirms Red Lobster's long-standing support of sustainable fisheries and its commitment to protecting Alaska's superior seafood for future generations. This is an extension of Red Lobster's tradition of providing quality seafood to guests while maintaining sustainable fishing practices and seafood quality assurance,” the company said.
Red Lobster has also committed to celebrating fishing boats and crews that help supply crab to its restaurants, including the “Deadliest Catch” fleets showcased on the Discovery Channel's hit series – restaurant guests can toast to the crabbing vessel crews with the Rogue Wave drink, which features Sauza Gold tequila, blue curacao and house margarita mix topped with a splash of ginger ale and served on the rocks in a commemorative Red Lobster mason jar with the Deadliest Catch logo.
