Goya Foods, which it says is the largest Hispanic-owned food company in the U.S., partnered with Vima Foods to bring premium frozen seafood to grocery stores in the U.S. Northeast and Southeast regions, the two companies said.
The collaboration between Secaucus, New Jersey, U.S.A.-based Goya and Vima Foods, which was founded in Galicia, Spain, but has U.S. headquarters in Miami, Florida, U.S.A., “aims to provide consumers with high-quality seafood options, enhancing the product offerings in these markets,” the two companies said in a press release.
Goya and Vima did not respond to SeafoodSource’s request for comment.
Goya will distribute Vima’s frozen tilapia fillets, swai fillets, wild pink salmon, tuna steaks, raw shrimp, cooked shrimp, mahi, squid rings, and seafood mix products.
“We’re so excited to be able to offer our premium seafood selection to grocers in the United States,” Vima Executive Vice Chairman Victor Moro said. “As the leading Latin food brand, Goya Foods shares our passion for high-quality products, so they’re the perfect partner to help us distribute our products.”
Vima, which operates in several countries, sports a portfolio of over 1,100 products across frozen, refrigerated, and dry categories. The company has established “a strong global presence while sourcing its products from over 40 countries, ensuring a wide array of authentic and high-quality ingredients,” Vima said.
