East Windsor, Connecticut, U.S.A.-based Geisslers Supermarket issued a recall of certain sushi products produced by EZnoble Sushi for the company due to undeclared allergens on the labels.
The recall applies to all EZnoble Sushi products produced or purchased on 26 March and 27 March 2024, with sell by dates of 27 and 28 March 2024.
The products may contain undeclared egg, wheat, and milk, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said in a notice.
"Customers with an allergy or severe sensitivity to egg, wheat, or milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products,” the FDA said.
A follow-up investigation of a 2022 recall of EZ Noble Sushi for undeclared allergens revealed labeling issues were not corrected, the FDA added.
The sushi, packaged in clear plastic packages with a Geisslers Supermarket Inc. label at the package, was distributed in Connecticut to Geisslers stores in East Windsor, South Windsor; Windsor; Bloomfield; Somers; Granby as well as the Geisslers store in Agawam, Massachusetts.
The recall applies to sushi sold on 26 and 27 March by Geisslers including Tuna and Salmon Combos, Spicy Tuna Rolls, and Shrimp Tempura Crunch Rolls. The sushi type is listed on the packaging below the Geisslers Supermarket emblem, and the UPC code is located on the bottom of the label, along with store location.
Consumers who have purchased sushi at any Geisslers Supermarket Inc. location on 26 or 27 March may return the products to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.
