The Danish Export Association and AquaCircle have merged to form a new organization to be called “Danish Export - Fish Tech,” the two groups announced.
The Danish Export Association is a member association that plans and executes export campaigns linked to international trade fairs and exhibitions, such as the 2024 Seafood Expo Global event in Barcelona, Spain. The association has over 100 members in the aquaculture, fisheries, and seafood-processing industries.
AquaCircle dubs itself a “knowledge cluster” for developing recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) technology, representing companies including BioMar, AKVA Group Danmark, and more.
Combining the two companies will help combine efforts to promote Danish aquaculture, the associations said in a press release.
"It is important that we can ensure the best possible conditions for industry players by creating a stronger voice together,” Danish Export Association Head of Fish Tech Martin Winkel Lilleøre said in a release. “Our members in Danish Export - Fish Tech are dependent on a strong aquaculture industry in Denmark to be able to develop in the export markets. Therefore, I am pleased that through the merger with AquaCircle, we can also create a stronger political voice.”
The merger, the new organization said, will bring together Danish feed, equipment, technology, and service suppliers in the aquaculture industry to help bolster its impact. The new organization also said it plans to play a more prominent role in political advocacy for the aquaculture industry.
“Exporting feed, equipment, and solutions to the global aquaculture industry is an important part of the Danish economy,” Danish Export - Fish Tech said. “Therefore, it is crucial that the industry has the best conditions to ensure continued development toward increasingly sustainable food production based on the best and most energy-efficient technologies.”
