Bantry Bay America, known for its marinated mussel products, is preparing for a major expansion of its offerings in the United States.
Bantry Bay’s parent company, Mascato, based in Vigo, Spain, announced this week what it described as an “aggressive” expansion effort in the United States.
Among the new product offerings will be a stout whole shell mussel, and a Thai curry mussel meat product, both planned for this quarter. The company will also be promoting a new range of skin pack value-added products, including both marinated fillets and marinated fillets with vegetables. The company also has a number of other products it is planning to unveil in 2016.
In addition to Spain, Mascato has plants in Chile, Vienam, Namibia and South Africa. It operates 25 vessels, 15 of which process seafood on board.
