Boise, Idaho, U.S.A.-based Albertsons Companies is expanding its July recall of ReadyMeals seafood items due to allergens not listed on the ingredient labels.
“The recall, which is being conducted in continued collaboration with the United States Food and Drug Administration, was initiated after an internal technical review identified missing ingredients containing allergens,” Albertsons said in a press release August 31.
In July, Albertsons recalled three ReadyMeals seafood items due to allergens not listed on the ingredient labels.
The initial recall included: ReadyMeals Shrimp Cooked with Cocktail Sauce, which contain undeclared shrimp and fish (anchovy); ReadyMeals Snow Crab Legs Imitation Surimi, which contain undeclared crab, fish (pollock and anchovy), egg, and wheat; and ReadyMeals Crab & Shrimp with Cocktail Sauce, which contain undeclared crab, shrimp, pollock, anchovy, wheat, egg, and soy.
The new recall includes all sell through dates up to and including 1 September 2022 of Albertsons’ ReadyMeals Shrimp Cooked with Cocktail Sauce and ReadyMeals Snow Crab Legs Imitation Surimi.
Both products contain undeclared fish (anchovy) and were sold in Albertsons and Safeway stores in Oregon and select cities in Washington state (Battle Ground, Camas, Hazel Dell, Kelso, Longview, Vancouver, Walla Walla, Washougal, and Woodland).
There have been no reports of injuries or adverse reactions due to consuming the products, Albertsons said.
